Title: An Innovative Model of EAP Teaching Integrated with the Content-Based Instruction Theory
With similar goals and teaching modes, CBI theory and EAP teaching mode can be integrated so as to facilitate the refinement, improvement, enhancement of EAP teaching in the reform of English teaching for non-English major postgraduate students. The study aims to establish a new EAP teaching model integrated with CBI theory. Through teaching practice with students of grade 2021 and 2022 as the experimental subjects, we verified the efficiency of five designs in new EAP teaching model, including establishing linking among different specialties, creating a academic-English-centred curriculum module, refining practice segment, implementing graded and cooperative teaching, and setting up dynamic evaluation system. The results suggests that the new EAP teaching model integrated with CBI theory could be effective way to optimize efficiency of EAP teaching.
